| Saturday, 5 October, 2002, 16:35 GMT 17:35 UK Milly charity to help youngsters ![]() Milly (left) with her parents and sister Gemma The parents of murdered schoolgirl Amanda Dowler plan to set up a charity aimed at giving youngsters advice on personal safety. Bob and Sally Dowler have named the charity - Milly's Fund - in honour of their 13-year-old daughter, who went missing in March while walking home from Walton-on-Thames railway station, Hampshire. Her body was found 25 miles away in remote woodland near Fleet last month. A Surrey police spokesman said: "There is going to be a charity to educate young people about personal safety."
He said it would be launched on Tuesday, when a memorial service is to be held for Milly at Guildford Cathedral, Surrey. Police are still appealing for two potential witnesses seen near to the site where Milly's remains were found. A man with a shovel who was seen in Yateley Heath forest on 24 March, three days after Milly vanished. He was wearing a thigh-length, green parka-like jacket with a hood and was spotted near the Ely pub on the A30. A second man was sighted near a roundabout on the exit route from Elvetham Heath Estate going towards Ancells Farm Estate, shortly after 1100 BST on either 27 or 28 March. |
