Woman killed in bus queue crash
Crashed car
The driver is being questioned by police
An elderly woman has been killed and five other people injured after a car crashed into a bus shelter in Lincolnshire.

Police said a Vauxhall Cavalier left the road and crashed into the shelter opposite the Tesco filling station on Beaumont Street in Gainsborough at 1234 BST.

Among the injured are three people from a local residential home and two children.

The ambulance service said an elderly woman died at the scene.

Driver arrested

Three other pensioners, two women and a man, are being treated for serious injuries at Lincoln County Hospital.

Officers say the group are from a local warden controlled complex in the town.

It is understood two children, who were travelling in the car, were also slightly hurt and a man in his 30s was also injured.

The male driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
