| Friday, 7 February, 2003, 18:24 GMT Patients die as Indian doctors strike Thousands of patients in the northern Indian state of Bihar had to go without treatment on Friday as doctors in government and private hospitals went on strike. Reports say 10 patients died without treatment in different hospitals across the state. The doctors were protesting against the kidnapping of one of their colleagues - a physician at the Patna Medical College hospital - two days ago. The director-general of Bihar police, BP Ojha, said senior police officers would meet to discuss how to check rising crime.
