Moore to wed movie director
Julianne Moore and Sir Anthony Hopkins in Hannibal
Moore sought therapy after filming Hannibal
Actress Julianne Moore has announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Bart Freundlich - though no date has been set for the wedding.

This will be the second trip down the aisle for the star of Far From Heaven, who already has two children - Caleb, five and nine-month-old Liv, by moviemaker Freundlich.

The couple met when Moore starred in The Myth of Fingerprints in 1997, which he directed.

They also worked together on World Traveller in 2001, which co-starred Billy Crudup.

News of the wedding was confirmed by Moore's publicist, Stephen Huvane.

Moore, 42, was previously married to actor John Gould Rubin but their ten-year union ended in divorce in 1995.

Born Julie Anne Smith, Moore changed her name when she joined the Screen Actors Guild.

She made her name playing half sisters in As The World Turns, a role that won her an Emmy.

Other credits include Magnolia, An Ideal Husband, The Shipping News and Hannibal.

Moore confessed to seeking therapy after filming the thriller Hannibal, the sequel to The Silence of the Lambs.

A two-time Oscar nominee - for Best Actress in 1999's The End of the Affair and Best Supporting Actress in 1997's Boogie Nights - Moore could double her career nods this year.

She is already racking up critics' awards for her roles in Far From Heaven and The Hours and last month received a Golden Globe nomination for Far From Heaven.

Moore's next role will be in the thriller Without Apparent Motive, opposite Richard Gere.
