Pop diva Jennifer Lopez has sparked rumours she is set to marry boyfriend Ben Affleck by wearing a diamond ring he bought her on her engagement finger.

The twice-divorced singer and actress also admitted she and the Good Will Hunting star had discussed marriage.

She told MTV the couple, who co-star in Jersey Girl and Gigli, liked to keep their relationship as private as possible, spending time with friends or going out to dinner.

"Some times it's easier than others. it just depends if we can slip in and then slip out," she said.

Robinson's daughter lands own game show

Weakest Link presenter Anne Robinson is facing a challenge to her Queen of Mean crown - from her daughter.

Emma Wilson, 32, is hosting a US children's game show called Scaredy Camp in which she barks at her young contestants "you are dismissed".

The US show sees a group of 12-year-olds traipse through dark woods as Wilson taunts them with comments like: "There are no wimps. Wimps do not make winners."

Wilson, who is Robinson's daughter from her first marriage to newspaper editor Charlie Wilson, said just the reputation of her mother makes her a little scary to children.

Madonna's Bond theme to miss top spot

Madonna's theme tune to the new James Bond movie looks like missing out on the UK number one spot to a summer holiday hit.

Die Another Day had been expected to go straight to the top of the charts, giving Madonna her 11th chart-topper.

But DJ Sammy's cover of Bryan Adams' Heaven is leaving the competition standing, according to chart experts.

And there is bad news for Craig David whose comeback single after a two year break, What's Your Flava?, looks like just limping in to the top 10.

EastEnders star in crash

EastEnders star Barbara Windsor is recovering after a taxi accident.

The star, 65, underwent tests at University College Hospital in London after her cab collided with a van in central London on Tuesday night.

"Thank God I am okay. I am going to get back to work as soon as possible. It could have been worse," said Windsor, who plays barmaid Peggy Mitchell in the BBC One soap.

Her agent Barry Burnett said she would be back at work next week.

Veteran director de Toth dies

Hungarian-born film director Andr� de Toth, famed for his sometimes violent and hard-edged movies, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 90.

The veteran movie-maker is remembered for his many varied films including the 3D House of Wax, the Bounty Hunter and Ramrod.

He was nominated for an Oscar for best screenplay, with William Bowers, for the 1950 The Gunfighter.

He fled to England during World War II, emigrating to the US in 1942 and ending his days in Los Angeles.

Book world honours Oprah

Chat show host Oprah Winfrey is to receive an honorary award for her tireless promotion of books and reading.

Although her Book Club, in which she picked a favourite read, has now finished the Association of American Publishers still wanted to reward her efforts.

"She's brought unparalleled excitement and attention to books. All of America should be grateful to her," Jane Friedman, president and chief executive of HarperCollins and vice chair of the publishers association, said.

Winfrey is credited with making bestsellers out of Anita Shreve, Joyce Carol Oates and many others, but said she now found it difficult to find any worthy books to recommend.

Mexican star Thalia thankful for kidnap support

Mexican pop star Thalia has thanked God and the public for their "support and prayers" follow the kidnap and release of her two sisters.

The singer and actress' siblings were snatched in Mexico City by kidnappers who demanded a ransom.

They were both eventually released, although separately, but it is not known if money was paid.

"I would also like to thank everyone for their support and prayers throughout this extremely difficult ordeal. On behalf of my family, I thank you from the bottom of my heart," she said.

Baby for Sex and the City star

Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker has given birth to a baby boy, according to reports.

David Perkins Broderick, her first child, was born yesterday morning at Manhattan's Lenox Hill Hospital, the New York Post reported.

Parker, 37, and actor husband Matthew Broderick announced the pregnancy in April. Their publicist would not confirm the birth, but the news slipped out when a caller claiming to be the daughter of a doctor who helped the delivery told a local radio station.

The actress is planning to return to work next February.
