The stage star was voted off by the public and became the third man in a row to have to leave the Australian bush and ITV1's I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! Comedian Rhona Cameron and Christine Hamilton, wife of disgraced Tory MP Neil, were among the other favourites to leave, according to bookmakers.
On Tuesday night, boxer Nigel Benn was the second to be given the boot by viewers from the show which pits minor celebrities against the Australian jungle. For the second night running the show had received an audience of 7.5 million, a big improvement on the show's debut last week. The former middleweight champion had a string of disagreements with the other celebrities and had to endure unpleasant tasks. Uri Geller was the first to be evicted on Monday night, with the psychic revealing he had predicted his own demise. Bookmakers have "It Girl" Tara Palmer-Tomkinson as the new favourite to win, narrowly ahead of glamour model Nell McAndrew and DJ Tony Blackburn. Charity motive The socialite failed in her attempt to flee the camp after rows with fellow contestants after the show's producers intervened. She was rounded up by security staff who insisted it was too dangerous to spend the night alone in the jungle. The celebrities have agreed to their jungle torment knowing they will win money for their chosen charity should they triumph. The public has been voting for which of the stars it wants to win the show, and the one who receives the least votes each day will leave. | See also: 04 Sep 02 | Entertainment 03 Sep 02 | Entertainment 27 Aug 02 | Entertainment 30 Aug 02 | Newsmakers Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Entertainment stories now: Links to more Entertainment stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
