Large arts organisations

The Royal Shakespeare Company receives the largest cash and percentage increases of the large arts organisations with an extra �3m (29%) by 2003/04.

The Royal National Theatre receives an increase of �1,525,941 by 2003/04, an increase of 11.5% over two years.

The South Bank Centre receives increases of 5% in 2002/03 and 3.9% in 2003/04.

The Royal Opera House receives an increase of �615,000 for 2002/03 and �633,450 in 2003/04.

The Crafts Council receives above inflationary increases of 4% in 2002/03 and 4% in 2003/04.

Non-performing arts portfolio

Literature projects will have a 75% increase between 2002/03 and 2003/04.

The visual arts have an increase of 28% over the same period.

Dance receives a 17% increase over two years, providing much needed increases in core revenue support for small and middle-scale companies and innovative companies.

Opera companies will have major cash increases and there are large increases for the non-classical sector. The total increase over the years 2002/03 and 2003/04 for music is 15%.

New work, experimentation and risk

Ricochet and Random dance companies will see their grants more than double in 2002/2003.

The Poetry Book Society will have a 57% increase and the Poetry Society enjoys a 42% rise.

The National Student Music Awards will have an extra �20,000 from 2002/03.

The National Artists Association will have a 44% increase by 2003/04.

Diversity and public inclusion

Adzido and Badejo Arts enjoy a rise of 28% and 47% respectively in 2002/03.

Heart 'n' Soul, a disability arts music group, gets a 30% rise in 2002/03.

Apples and Snakes will have a 525% rise and there is new annual funding of �67,000 for Survivors Poetry.

The Asian and Caribbean Music Circuit and the Asian Music Circuit both have a 40% increase.

The Institute of international visual arts will receive a 25% rise in 2002/03.
