No police action over dead baby
Railway Street, Splott
Forensic experts examined the scene where the baby was found
A 15-year-old mother whose baby boy was found dead in a Cardiff garden will not face further police action.

The new-born baby was discovered in January in the back garden of a house in the Splott area of the city.

South Wales Police launched an investigation and the teenager was identified as the mother a week after the baby was found.

Post mortem examinations revealed that the baby was still-born.

Detective Inspector Debbie Cooper of South Wales Police said: "This has been a traumatic time for both the mother of the child and her family and we hope that they can now start to rebuild their lives and put this sad chapter behind them.

"Extensive investigations by South Wales Police and a Home Office pathologist have revealed that the baby was still-born and there will be no action taken against the girl."
