Mr Williams plans to retire early after his win |
A building worker from Anglesey will be dismantling scaffolding for the last time after scooping a Lotto jackpot of over 1m.
Father-of-three Raymond Williams discovered he had become a millionaire when he sat down to check his numbers on Wednesday evening.
He could not see the television clearly and it was his partner, 58-year-old Susan Hughes, who broke the news that he had won.
Mr Williams, 62, who lives in Menai Bridge, has worked as a scaffolder for years but is planning early retirement after his win of 1,140,850.
He said: "I couldn't quite make out the numbers properly, so asked Susan to check them for me.
"We couldn't believe our eyes when we realised we had won.
"We were literally jumping for joy."
Home
Mr Williams' first plan is to hold a celebration with friends and family, including his two sons and a daughter and Ms Hughes' two children.
Then he plans to find a new home for the couple to retire to - now that it has come earlier than expected.
He is also planning to spend time away from Anglesey and hopes to see his family more frequently.
He said: "I have a son in London whom I would love to visit and perhaps take a tour of London for a few days.
"It will be lovely to spend more time with the children.
"We also hope to spend more time in Spain as it is our favourite holiday destination."
