It is hoped the operation will stop children dropping litter |
Three Denbighshire students have been fined 50 each for dropping litter near their school. The trio, all aged over 16 and at Prestatyn High School, were handed fixed penalty notices and another one was cautioned.
They were caught by the Prestatyn Community Policing Team as part of an initiative to combat litter near the school after residents' complaints.
Police recently warned pupils they faced prosecution for dropping litter.
A North Wales Police spokesman said the initiative took place over a few days during the school's lunch hour.
He added they were waiting to see if there was "an improvement" before deciding whether to launch another similar operation.
