The proposed 85m scheme would mean the end of the funfair |
A planning bid which would transform the West End of Rhyl, demolishing the town's funfair, has been submitted to Denbighshire County Council. Manchester-based developers Modus Properties want to build 217 apartments, a new Asda store and a hotel at the Ocean Beach site.
The plan also includes shops, offices, cafes and restaurants.
Ten wind turbines and three photovoltaic solar panels are also included in the scheme.
The planning application will go to public consultation before it is discussed by planners next year.
The proposed 85m scheme called Ocean Plaza includes apartments, offices and a hotel, but not the historic funfair.
