Fun ride leaves five stranded
Rhyl sky tower
The Sky Tower has been situated in Rhyl for 12 years
Five people have been rescued from a seaside tourist attraction after it broke down.

The 240ft high ride in Rhyl got stuck at around 1550 GMT on Thursday.

Three adults and two children were stuck inside the Sky Tower but were brought down safely by engineers who managed to fix the problem.

The observation car rotates as it lifts around a central column and rises to more than 200ft. The ride lasts for approximately five minutes.

Situated on the promenade in Rhyl, the ride has been in operation since 1993.

A spokesman for North Wales fire service confirmed that they had been called out to deal with the situation.

Fire crews stood by as a precaution but were not needed.
