Residents in a Denbighshire village have launched a campaign to create a community green. Locals from Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd near Ruthin fear they are missing out on village life without the facility.
They claim it is one of the few villages in the county without a public area.
The campaign has caught the imagination of young and old villagers, with teenagers hoping part of the green could be turned into a skatepark.
"There's not really anywhere to mess around, it's just roads. If they built a park, it would be cool if they put in a skatepark," said teenager Owain Pole.

Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd is a village with around 200 houses.
Residents have said it has a pub, a church hall, and a school but no community green.
Members of the Village Green Campaign have searched the nearby area to find a suitable facility.
"Llanbedr doesn't have a focal point as such - we've lost the shop, we've only got the pub as a focal point and a focal point for the area is very important," said Dave Matischok from the campaign.
"There will be something for everyone, there will be a barbeque area and a walkway for the elderly to get around away from the main road," he added.
A Denbighshire County Council spokesperson said: "We have not been approached by anyone from Llanbedr campaigning for a village green.
"However, a county-wide survey identified a lack of play facilities in the village and we are aware that residents are keen to use a particular piece of land as a football pitch and play area.
"The Unitary Development Plan, which determines land use across Denbighshire, is currently being reviewed and we would welcome any formal applications from the community for consideration."
