Remand on beach killing
Mr Dodd
Mr Dodd was stabbed at least 10 times
A man has been remanded in custody charged with stabbing a pensioner to death on a seafront.

The body of Brian Noble Dodd, who lived in the town, was discovered by a member of the public walking a dog in a car park at Ffrith beach in Prestatyn on 25 March.

Paul Michael Khan, 34, is being held in secure accommodation under the terms of the Mental Health Act.

He appeared before Prestatyn magistrates, but was sent to appear at Mold Crown Court on 18 June.

Details of the murder were not outlined during the brief hearing.

Mr Dodd, who was 72, was discovered lying behind his heavily bloodstained Y-registration silver Mitsubishi Charisma car.

The victim's two dogs were found next to his body.

Mr Dodd, a retired accountant, had been married to his wife Enid for 10 years and had stepchildren.
