Nearly 2,000 people have gathered in Newtown for the latest BBC Wales road show event, Here For You, at Coleg Powys in the town. It is part of a month of events, programmes and shows that are taking place in and around the Powys town.
Among the main attractions was Doctor Who's Tardis and people were able to see inside the famous time machine.
Fans of the quiz Mastermind took a seat in the intimidating black chair and answered questions from the series.
Meanwhile, visitors were given the chance to read the news with Jamie Owen and Claire Summers and take lessons in how to present the weather from Derek Brockway.
They could also listen to Radio Wales and Radio Cymru shows broadcast live from the event.
A host of BBC Wales programmes were represented |
Ann Brian, from Newtown, was attending the event with her 11-year-old grand-daughter Sophie Thomas.
"It has been great to take a look behind the scenes," said Ms Brian.
"It is a great idea to allow people to see what the BBC offers and we have seen things we wouldn't normally see."
Town historian and former mayor David Pugh said there was something for everybody at the Here For You road show.
"It's brilliant that the BBC is getting out to meet people," he said.
"It is good that it is in mid Wales and it is able to make contact with the community because the BBC sometimes feels a bit remote but this is certainly a way of letting people see more."
Cast
Among those meeting the public were presenters Roy Noble from BBC Radio Wales and Hywel Gwynfryn from BBC Radio Cymru.
The BBC's News Online service and the Mid Wales Where I Live website were also represented.
They were joined by some of the cast from the Welsh language soap opera, Pobol y Cwm.
Meanwhile, sports fans were able to try their hand at rugby and football commentating with former Welsh international Leighton James.
