Jools Holland at the tsunami benefit concert in Cardiff in January |
Jools Holland has been unveiled as one of the headlining acts at this year's Brecon Jazz Festival. Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra are one of a handful of performers already confirmed for the popular event in August.
Organisers expect to name the full line-up next month.
Among the other acts announced on Tuesday were British singer-songwriter Lucie Silvas and the Esbjorn Svenson Trio (EST), from Sweden.
Holland, 47, the sharp-suited, quick-witted presenter of the BBC's Later programme, last appeared at the festival in 1997.
Event director Andy Eagle said he was delighted the musician, who will also appear at Powys' Guardian Hay Festival in June, had agreed to play at Brecon.

"Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will be one of the headlining acts at the festival and it'll be the first time he's appeared for about eight years at the festival," said Mr Eagle.
Silvas, 24, is considered one of Britain's brightest song writing stars. She has already enjoyed success with her debut album Breathe In, and has written songs for other artists including Gareth Gates, Rachel Stevens and Liberty X.
The festival will be held between 12 and 14 August.
Mr Eagle said an alternative eve of festival show on the Thursday night would probably be held once again this year.
Last year, Welsh rockers the Super Furry Animals entertained hundreds of fans with a concert.
The event celebrated its 21st anniversary last year with a bumper weekend - one of the most successful in its history.
About 70,000 revellers regularly attend the festival which has an international following.
Holland and Silvas will perform at the Watton Marquee, Brecon, on 12 August and Silvas and EST on 13 August.
