The scaffolding fell on to the tracks on Tuesday morning |
A large section of scaffolding has collapsed on to tracks at Aberystwyth railway station. There have been no reports of injuries, but trains were stopped temporarily on Tuesday while the obstruction was cleared.
Fire crews in the town were called to the Old Railway Station in the town just before 1030 GMT.
Builders were using the scaffolding to develop part of the station into shops.
It is unclear at present how the metal bars came to fall.
Part of a car park next to the station was evacuated, said Dyfed-Powys Police.
Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade confirmed a "large section" of scaffolding had fallen down, but added there were no reports of injuries.
Arriva Trains Wales said services into Aberystwyth had been affected temporarily.
The station closure affected trains to Birmingham New Street, said Arriva.
Services returned to normal later on Tuesday.
