Police name train death man

Mr Fletcher lived in Aberystwyth
Police have named the man killed after he was hit by a train as it came into Aberystwyth station.

Anthony Charles Patrick Fletcher, 46, from Penparcau, Aberystwyth, died on Tuesday morning on a footpath crossing.

British Transport Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

The rail service between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth was cancelled for more than two hours following Mr Fletcher's death.

The British Transport Police, in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, said Mr Fletcher died after being struck by the Machynlleth to Aberystwyth passenger train at Plascrug foot crossing on 5 October at approximately 0725 BST.

The coroner for Ceredigion has opened and adjourned an inquest into Mr Fletcher's death.
