Well, you'd be wrong.

It seems that the 30-year-old pop singer Andre was at one time a frequent visitor to Ceredigion, where he indulged a passion he shares with his new love interest Jordan. Horses.

In fact, Andre spent �4,000 on a Welsh cob - called Fronath Cymraes Ddu, or Welsh Lady - bred by brothers David John Jones, 89, and Brynmor Jones, 86, at their farm near Llanon in Ceredigion, back in 2001.

And ever since the Jones brothers have been in regular contact with the singer - who had a hits with Mysterious Girl and Only One - and were rooting for him over the past two weeks as they tuned into the reality TV show.

Indeed, the Joneses say he could soon be a regular visitor to mid Wales yet again because a close family friend is in the process of buying a farm in Ceredigion.

"Peter is coming back to the UK on Thursday so we'll probably give him a ring to have a word about his relationship with Jordan," said Gwyn Jones, the brothers' nephew who lives with them on a 350-acre farm.

"I know that both he and Jordan have an interest in horses because she owns some Arab horses so perhaps they have more in common than people think."

Mr Jones explained that Andre bought his horse at a Welsh cob sale at Builth Wells in 2001.

Such sales pull big crowds as the versatility hardiness, kind nature and loyalty of the native breed makes them popular with horse enthusiasts all over the world.

"He had come to the sale with a friend of his father's who now keeps the cob at his home at Burnham in Buckinghamshire," he added.

"Since visiting us here we have been in regular contact with him and talked about horses.

"I know he is a keen rider although he won't have ridden the cob yet because the three-year-old won't have been broken in yet.

"But we're hoping to see him here soon as his father's friend is on the verge of buying a house in the Llandysul area so I expect he will then be a regular visitor to the area."

Philosophical about his disappointment as Andre missing out on the king of the jungle title, Brynmor Jones he was surprised at winner Kerry McFadden.

"Jennie Bond is my queen of the jungle because she did well in all the challenges that she was set," he said.
