Hundreds of Jasmine's friends attended the funeral |
Moving tributes have been paid at her funeral to a 12-year-old girl killed in a minibus crash on her way to school. Hundreds of fellow pupils were at service at the Church of St Paul, Newbridge, for Jasmine Allen.
One family letter read: "It is hard to believe someone so small could have so much love inside to give to others."
Newbridge Comprehensive head teacher Allan Raybould said Jasmine was "quite simply a lovely girl."
Mr Raybould told the service she had "a positive outlook, good sense of humour and a ready smile" and she was "a daughter any parent would have been proud to call their own."
Nine other children were injured in the crash on Hafodyrynys Road, leading to Crumlin, on 16 May.
The cortege passed by her school and was flanked by members of local motorcycle clubs, the Patriots and the Grinning Idiots. They were asked to do so by Jasmine's family because of her love of watching them pass by.
The Patriots are also raising money in her name to equip Wales's first children's hospital.
The Reverend Margaret June Jefford said Jasmine had been looking forward to a family holiday in Cornwall this year.
"She loved the waves and would go surfboarding. I think perhaps up in heaven she is teaching other angels how to surf the clouds," she said.
He spoke of her close friendships with her fellow pupils and her talent for "dead-legging" the boys when they misbehaved.
Junior Defence Minister and Islwyn MP Don Touhig, who used to live in the area, read a psalm.
