The march will honour those who took part in the strike |
Former miners' leader Arthur Scargill has taken part in a rally in south Wales to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1984 strike. Trade unionists led a march through Pontypridd to pay tribute to the miners and their families who supported the strike.
The march was followed by the rally and an afternoon of entertainment for the families of former miners in the area.
Speakers at the landmark event included Tyrone O'Sullivan, now managing director at the only remaining deep pit in south Wales, Tower colliery in Hirwaun.
The march assembled at Ynysangharad Park in the town on Saturday.
An exhibition charting important events during the historic dispute was organised and archive footage of the strike was shown.
