Mid Wales did not escape the flooding which hit other areas |
Some flood warnings issued for rivers across mid Wales have been stood down as rain which brought rising water levels across the region has now begun to subside. The Environment Agency - which had issued flood warnings for the river Wye at Builth Wells and the river Usk at Brecon to Glangrwyne and at Crickhowell - has now given them the all clear.
But flood warnings are still in place for the Dyfi Valley and Machynlleth and the river Severn from Caerhowel to Trewern, Glandulais to Caerhowel, Llandinam to Glandulais, and Pool Quay to Crew Green.
One is also in place for the river Wye from Hay to Hereford.
On Wednesday Mid and West Wales Fire Service crews pumped out flooded properties at Llandeilo, Pencader, Crickhowell and Llandysul due to the heavy rain.
And on Tuesday evening, the promenade in Brecon was under several feet of water and three homes in Crickhowell, one in Llangattock, and one in Brecon had flooded.

The A487 at Dyfi Bridge, Machynlleth, was shut, as was the B4300 at Gelli Aur, near Llandeilo and the B297 near Dryslwyn.
Elsewhere, the A483 one mile north of Welshpool was passable with care as was the A470 outside Builth, towards Erwood.
In the south, Arriva Trains said that trains are running again on the Treherbert and Aberdare lines. Services had been stopped because of high water levels at some bridges on the routes.
