Home-made bomb found on quay
Caernarfon harbour
The device was found on a slipway
Police are appealing for information after a small home-made bomb was found on a slipway in Caernarfon.

The device was found by a member of the public on the town's quay.

It was described as a "small improvised explosive device".

The item was made safe by bomb disposal experts on Monday and has been submitted for forensic analysis to find out who planted it.

Although it was a small device, police say there is no reason to believe the offender had specialist knowledge as it was not sophisticated.

But a spokesman said it would have been capable of causing injury.

There was nothing to link the incident with any organisation, or to suggest who or what might have been the target.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Wales Police on 0845 6071001 or 0845 6071002.
