BBC News Online's Tom Bourton puts his ear to the track to find out what Welsh stars have been getting up to. A north Wales seaside resort has been gearing up for a star guest this week, as Sex in the City's Kim Cattral hinted at a possible visit. The Sun and the Media Guardian both reported that she was considering a break at Pontin's in Prestatyn, north Wales.
The Liverpool-born actress said she was returning to Britain with her mother Shane, who used to work at the Denbighshire resort. Ms Cattral, 46, said that she wanted to "hit all the places" where her mother lived. "They haven't made a firm booking yet, but it's heartening to know that Prestatyn Sands Pontins is the talk of Manhattan," said a Pontins spokeswoman. Elsewhere, preview pictures of Catherine Zeta Jones are making waves. Heat magazine has a series of stills from her upcoming adverts for T-mobile - she can be seen sitting in the bath, looking through a telescope and ten-pin bowling inside a mansion. The adverts, which are already showing in the States, are expected to be shown in the UK by the end of the year. Meanwhile, the Welsh Mirror ran some pictures of CZJ in her musical movie, Chicago. For more on this musical extravaganza, Etonline has some teaser posters up, albeit without Ms Jones (look on the right for the link). On a more unsavoury note, Radio One disc jockey Chris Moyles has been rapped for making improper comments about teenage singer Charlotte Church, from Cardiff, who recently turned 16. Feeder album The months of Big Brother frenzy may have been keeping last year's runner-up Helen Adams, from Cwmbran, in the spotlight, but she has reportedly been considering a return to hairdressing to ensure a steady income. As well as Big Brother, the Welsh Proms also ended this weekend, with a typically rousing finale.
Staying in music, the NME website reports that the new album from Newport band Feeder has been heavily influenced by the suicide of drummer Jon Lee. Called Comfort in Sound, it is due out on October 21, after a new single Come Back Around on September 30. The NME site also reveals that Underworld, who have a new album out soon, almost split up after making their DVD Everything, Everything and after Darren Emerson left the group. Welshman Karl Hyde told the site he and Rick Smith feared they had "nothing left to offer". Finally, Pontypridd band Lostprophets have been chatting on the Radio One website, clearing up how, amongst other things, their name should be spelt.
