Production starts Tuesday on a new programme set for air on the BBC later this year - aptly-named Cable TV. Six shows are planned, featuring a mix of celebrities, current affairs and new music acts.
Cable was last seen performing with the band at the weekend, when they topped the bill at the sell-out Glastonbury Festival. They are also due to headline the Silverstone Grand Prix Charity Bash at the Northamptonshire circuit on Saturday, with Eddie Jordan. Filming for the new TV show takes place at The Pop Factory in Porth and will take three weeks. The band helped officially open the building in August. The multi-media studio is managed by production company Avanti, which has previously produced the band's Morfa Stadium and Cardiff Castle concerts for BBC Wales. Excited drummer Band manager John Brown told BBC News Online: "It will be a David Letterman-style chat show in Stuart's own inimitable fashion. "The show will feature interviews with people in the news, entertainment and live music." Comedian Rob Brydon, author Howard Marks, and soul punk quartet the Bellrays will be the first to film with Cable. F1's guitar-playing Jordan will also appear later in the series. "Stuart is very excited about it; the studio set is amazing," Brown added. "He is thrilled to have the opportunity to do what he does best - talking to his friends." | See also: 21 Jun 02 | Entertainment 31 May 02 | Wales 15 Mar 02 | Wales 04 Sep 00 | Wales 14 Jan 02 | Wales 13 Aug 01 | Wales Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Wales stories now: Links to more Wales stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
