 NCR has transferred production to Hungary, where wages are cheaper |
About 50 more jobs are to go at the cash machine manufacturer NCR in Dundee, it has emerged. The company laid off more than 600 workers 18 months ago, leaving just 170 NCR manufacturing posts in the city. The latest jobs from the remaining 800-strong workforce will go after NCR streamlined its worldwide operations. Dundee West MP Jim McGovern said he was disappointed at not being given prior notice of the cuts, after an assurance the company would keep him informed. US-based NCR has transferred production to Hungary, where wages are cheaper.
