Many festival-goers queued overnight for tickets |
Tickets for this year's T in the Park music festival at Balado near Kinross have sold out within an hour. Music lovers queued since Thursday to get their hands on the remaining 40,000 tickets for the festival, which went on sale at 0900 GMT.
Crowds of 80,000 are expected at the festival which runs from 11 to 13 July.
This year's event will be headlined by REM and The Verve with Kaiser Chiefs, The Fratellis and the Chemical Brothers also on the bill.
The first half of the tickets went on sale straight after the festival last year, and were snapped up in just 69 minutes.
Organisers said T in the Park official agents had now sold out but fans may be able to get tickets from Ticketmaster TicketExchange, where people were able to buy tickets at face value last year.
For the first time festival-goers will be able to camp from the Thursday after organisers reviewed arrangements following heavy rain which caused car parks to shut and some ticket-holders to be turned away last year.
Festival Director Geoff Ellis said: "We are delighted that the buzz surrounding T in the Park continues to grow.
"We strive to keep the line-up fresh and exciting and continue to work with all our event partners to ensure that we offer the best festival experience possible for fans."
Main stage
Festival-goers are encouraged to bring phosphate-free soap and shower gel and all contractors and staff will follow strict rules about waste water, with daily collection points.
Scottish Water is also providing standpipes to ensure people can re-use plastic bottles whenever possible.
The Verve will play the main stage on the Friday night, while REM will appear there on the Sunday evening.
Kings Of Leon and Rage Against The Machine have also been announced as headliners.
The Kooks, Primal Scream, KT Tunstall, The Enemy and The Feeling will also perform.
