Officers caught 29 drivers on the first day of the operation
Dozens of motorists have been caught speeding in a crackdown by Central Scotland Police.

A total of 44 were clocked on several main roads near Callander and Lochearnhead by patrols over the past two weekends.

Another two drivers were given fixed penalty fines after being caught behind the wheel without wearing seatbelts.

Four more motorists were found with faults on their vehicles and another one was caught without valid road tax.

On Saturday, 26 August, 29 drivers were caught over the speed limit on the A84, A85 and A811, with another 14 caught on Sunday.

Sgt Graeme Adamson, of Central Scotland Police's Road Policing Unit, said: "These roads to Callander and Lochearnhead are popular with motorcyclists and we can understand the attraction.

"The law is there for a reason and our job is to enforce the law.

"We want people to enjoy the area and the stunning scenery but to do so safely."
