Police found a camera in a crashed car with images of the car's speedometer showing 110mph, Inverness Sheriff Court heard. Michael Campbell, of Nairn, admitted consuming alcohol before driving at excessive speeds and crashing into a van on the A96 in December.
A friend took the photographs before the smash. The pair fled the scene, but were later traced by police.
Campbell, 20, was banned from driving for 18 months and fined �1,000.
Sheriff David Sutherland also said he must sit an extended test of competence to drive before getting his licence back.
Police found beer and lagers in the car as well as the camera, the court heard.
Campbell's solicitor Neil Wilson told the court: "I am struggling to say anything to make it better for Campbell.
"The 110mph speed was approached twice in the course of the journey. He approached the roundabout far too fast.
"He accepts full culpability of dangerous driving and the consequences."
