Murray's hair set to make the cut
Andy Murray
Murray has not had his cut professionally for a year-and-a-half
Britain's number one tennis player Andy Murray is allowing fans to choose his next hair style.

Murray, who is currently preparing to play Slovakia's Dominik Hrbaty in the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters, has become known for his curly mop.

The Dunblane teenager has launched a competition on his website which allows supporters to vote from four different styles.

Murray said: "I don't really take care of my hair."

Fans can choose between

  • short at the back, messy on top
  • a grade four buzz-cut all over
  • trimmed and thinned but keep it longish
  • cut it himself (again).

Dozens of supporters have been sending in suggestions

So far, the grade four is winning the battle.

Murray said: "I genuinely haven't been to a proper hairdresser since around Wimbledon last year.

"I've cut it a few times with nail scissors and my girlfriend has cut it as well.

"I never brush it when I get up in the morning, and I never put any products in it. I do wash it, though."

The 19-year-old, ranked 19th in the world, beat Juan Ignacio Chela on Wednesday despite struggling with a throat infection.
