Sports village plans on display
Stirling sports village
The village would bring a host of modern facilities to Stirling
Plans for one of Central Scotland's most ambitious sporting projects have gone on public display.

Stirling Council said it wanted to gauge local opinion on plans for a major sports complex in the city.

The sports village at Forthbank will include swimming pools, a nine court sports hall, outdoor pitches, a climbing wall and ice rink.

Construction work is due to begin in May after the plans go before councillors for final approval.

Stirling Council executive member John Hendry urged the public to have a say.

"We have a vision for facilities that will be second to none and will cater for the needs of all, whether casual leisure users or aspiring athletes," he said.

The plans have gone on display at Thistles Shopping Centre before moving on to the Rainbow Slides leisure centre.
