The tickets sold despite fans not knowing the 2007 line up |
Thousands of tickets for next year's T in the Park music festival have been sold - 48 hours after the 2006 event. A total of 35,000 passes went on sale at 0900 BST and were snapped up in 70 minutes.
The tickets, which could only be bought over the phone or the internet, sold despite fans not knowing what the 2007 line-up will be.
The event, this year headlined by The Who and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, will continue to be held in Kinross.
'Sought after tickets'
Geoff Ellis, of festival organisers Big Day Out, said: "Once again, music fans have shown that T in the Park tickets are the most hotly sought after in the UK.
"Last weekend, the legendary Balado crowd enjoyed 170 artists across 11 stages as the sun shone."
Event organisers hailed this year's festival as the best so far, with the lowest arrest figures to date.
Next year's T in the Park is being held on virtually the same weekend - Saturday 7 July and Sunday 8 July - at its Balado base.
