Future of Gretna's ground studied

Raydale Park
Raydale Park is one of the club's tangible assets

Experts have been asked to prepare for the possible sale of Gretna FC's assets, including its stadium.

A report looking at options for maximising the club's value was commissioned by administrators but its contents have not been made public.

The club's only tangible assets are the land and property at Raydale Park which are listed with a value of 824,000.

Gretna's unpaid debts at the time they went into administration in March were nearly 4m.

The existence of the study is revealed in a document outlining the extent of Gretna's insolvency.

The document detailing the number of the club's creditors also mentions the report which looks at the club's assets.

It says a Leeds company of chartered surveyors was instructed to advise on the best strategy to "maximise realisations from the sale of the company's business and assets".

The report has been prepared but, according to administrators Wilson Field, "due to the sensitivity of the situation, it is not proposed that the contents of that report be disclosed".

A creditors' meeting will be held in Gretna on 8 May.
