School fast food ban considered
Dumfries and Galloway Council is to look at moves to ban fast food vendors from setting up stalls outside schools.

It follows concern that work to promote healthy eating through school meals could be undermined.

Councillors have called for a report on possible options such as introducing zoning conditions on street traders.

The authority has contacted other councils across Scotland to establish what measures they have taken to try to tackle the issue.
