Roadworks still on festive target
Galashiels traffic
Roadworks in Galashiels should still be completed on schedule
A delay in demolishing the Station Brae Bridge in Galashiels will not affect a roadworks deadline in the town.

Scottish Borders Council had intended removing the old bridge in July but the work has been rescheduled to November - to allow cables to be moved.

The authority is confident the new road infrastructure will still be completed for its 25 November deadline.

A temporary traffic link will be created from Station Brae roundabout to Station Brae and Melrose Road.
