A 13-turbine development is being proposed near Sanquhar |
Developers hoping to build a 32m wind farm near Sanquhar are set to face public questions over their proposals. Airtricity has submitted plans to build a 13-turbine farm at Whiteside Hill, about three miles west of the town.
If successful the development would generate enough power for about 16,500 homes - an estimated 25% of the households in Dumfries and Galloway.
Two public exhibitions are planned on Tuesday in Kirkconnel and Sanquhar with Airtricity representatives present.
Airtricity Scotland's chief executive officer, Alan Baker said: "Before submitting our application we have been working closely with the local communities and the community councils.
"We will continue to consult widely over the coming months during the planning application consultation period."
The public meetings take place at Kirkconnel Miners Memorial Hall between 0930 and 1230 BST and the Nithsdale Hotel in Sanquhar between 1030 and 2000 BST.
