Administrators hope to find a buyer for the company within days
Administrators of the Hunter Rubber Company in Dumfries hope to agree a deal for the firm within days.

KPMG confirmed it had received 10 offers for the business when its bid deadline passed on 21 April.

The administrators will now assess the bids with a view to achieving the maximum price for the business.

Production has restarted at the plant for the 64 remaining employees and all workers are to be updated on their holiday fund contributions.

Richard Fleming, joint administrator and KPMG restructuring partner, confirmed there had been strong interest in the wellington firm.

About 100 interested companies had been whittled down to 10.

Mr Fleming said he expected discussions to "progress quickly" this week.

In addition the administrators confirmed a meeting with all employees to update them on the situation surrounding 14,000 of contributions to the company's holiday fund.
