Wind farms are at the forefront of energy efforts |
Scotland is pushing ahead in its bid to become Europe's green energy capital, it has been claimed. Energy Minister Jim Mather told international delegates in Aberdeen efforts would continue towards economic growth and a low carbon economy. Speaking at the All Energy 08 conference, he said: "We have put renewable energy at the heart of our vision." The renewables event is being held on Wednesday and Thursday. Mr Mather said: "There have been notable strides. The Scottish Government has set new, ambitious targets. "With an excellent broad research and innovation base, Scotland has never been in better shape to become the green energy capital of Europe." Protests from anti-wind farm campaigners were expected at the event.
