Alcohol confiscated in crackdown
Teenagers
The crackdown followed complaints from local people
One person was arrested, a number of others were dispersed and alcohol was confiscated during a crack down on anti-social behaviour in Aberdeen.

Grampian Police carried out an operation at the weekend in the Rosemount, Mile End and Hilton areas.

Officers from the Neighbourhood and Partnerships Unit conducted the intelligence-led operation on Saturday evening.

A 15-year-old boy was charged in connection with breach of the peace.

Anti-social behaviour

Another youth, also under 18, who was drunk, was taken home to his parents.

Police said numerous youths were found to be under the influence of alcohol and were dealt with accordingly.

The operation was carried out as part of the Safer Scotland campaign to tackle collective and group violence and was as a direct result of complaints received from a number of residents in those areas regarding anti-social behaviour being committed mostly by teenagers.

Officers said alcohol was confiscated from a large number of youths under the age of 18 who were dispersed from the Denburn Car Park and also from the Clifton Road area.

Two litres of cider, one litre of whisky, and a half litre of gin were seized.
