A song called "Stand By Your Ham" is being recorded by pig farmers to raise awareness of their economic plight. The farmers own version of Tammy Wynette's classic "Stand By Your Man" is being recorded in London.
Kevin Gilbert, from Kintore, Aberdeenshire, is among those from across the UK taking part.
The song and video will be released on the campaign site www.pigsareworthit.com to highlight rising industry prices.
'Fair price'
Stewart Houston, chairman of the National Pig Association, said: "It is a slightly tongue in cheek way of raising awareness of a serious issue.
"Put simply, farmers need to receive a little more for their pigs or many face the prospect of going out of business.
"All they are asking for is a fair price. If we do get a big response we'll look at selling the single and giving any profits to charity."
The farmers are worried about increases in feed prices caused by rising world wheat prices.
