Six people died through drugs in Aberdeen between December and January, newly-released figures have revealed.

The number of drug deaths in 2007 as a whole in Grampian was down on the previous year to 37.

Twenty of the deaths were recorded in Aberdeen, 12 in Aberdeenshire and five in Moray.

The figures were reported at a meeting of the Aberdeenshire Alcohol and Drugs Action Team, which heard police had made significant recent seizures.
