Two possible sites in Aberdeen are now being considered for the city's new 53m community stadium project.

A feasibility study will be carried out into Loirston at Cove and King's Links at the beach.

The stadium, with at least 22,000 seats, would provide a new home for Aberdeen Football Club (AFC).

A motion by council leader Kate Dean for both sites to be explored was approved by colleagues. A report by council officers recommended Loirston.

The Arena project team of Aberdeen City Council and the football club hope the stadium could be built by 2012.
