Scotland win earns pair 12,000
James McFadden fires the Scots in front
McFadden's thunderous effort gave the fans their win
Two Scotland fans netted 12,000 with a special bet on a James McFadden goal to beat France 1-0.

Andy Moore and Sean McBain put 50 each on predicting the first scorer and score line at combined odds of 120-1.

The pair of Aberdeen offshore workers then watched in disbelief as they won 6,000 each.

A spokeswoman for bookmakers Coral said: "This is the largest return on any of the football bets that we took for Scotland's match this week."

Mr Moore said: "When the final whistle blew the whole bar was going crazy but me and Sean were jumping more than anyone else.

"We haven't really stopped celebrating since."

The Tartan Army hailed Wednesday night's Euro 2008 qualifier result in France as one of Scotland's best ever.

Other winners were an English-based gambler who walked off with 9,000 after staking 1,000 on a Scotland victory, while a Glasgow man won 4,500 on a 500 stake.
