Jimmy Buchan's fishing crew can be followed in his blog

The first series last year showed millions of viewers the daily dangers faced by Peterhead fishermen as they put food on the nation's tables.

The producers and skippers - some new to the programme - hope it will be even more exciting second time around.

The five-part series is on BBC One all this week, starting at 1900 BST.

The first series attracted several million viewers, many of whom expressed admiration for the bravery of the crews.

'Extraordinary people'

John Buchan, skipper of the Ocean Venture, said of the second series: "I think it's better, there's more bad weather."

On the issue of fame for the crews, he said: "Wherever you go people recognise you."

A BBC spokesman said: "I think we have pushed it a little bit further as we go to sea with these extraordinary people."
