Plans to set up a whisky business in Unst at the former RAF base at Saxa Vord have been abandoned. Blackwood Distillers has announced it has been unable to agree terms with the company which took over the former RAF base.
The company will now update existing plans for the original distillery site at Catfirth on the Shetland mainland.
The RAF ended its near 50-year link with the community at Saxa Vord after closing its radar base last year.
