Shetland set for equal pay debate
Shetland Islands Council and unions are set for a wrangle over controversial equal pay proposals.

Letters are due to be sent out to all employees this weekend detailing how they will be affected by the single status plans.

It is believed the offers on the table could cost the island authority almost 14m.

The biggest union involved, Unison, claims over half of council staff could be facing a pay cut.
