Weather warning as winter bites
Driver clears snow from car
Drivers are being asked to take extra car during the cold spell
Police have warned drivers to take extra care on Grampian's roads after a weekend of winter weather continued on Monday.

The B974 Banchory to Fettercairn road was closed, while the A939 Cockbridge to Tomintoul road was able to re-open.

All roads in the Upper Deeside area were said to be badly affected by ice.

Gritters have been out to make roads safer and drivers have been urged to take care on all roads and to allow plenty of time for journeys.

Snow and high winds affected Aberdeenshire over the weekend, and Aberdeen roads and pavements were slippery with ice on Monday morning.

The winter snap is expected to continue this week.
