Fears over north-east's prisons
Two Aberdeen city councillors have called for an early decision on the future of the north-east's two jails.

George Leslie and Jim Kiddie want assurances that a decision has not been delayed as a political ploy in the run up to the Holyrood elections.

The Scottish Prison Service said no decision on Craiginches and Peterhead would be reached before next year.

But Councillor Leslie said conditions at Craiginches were too critical for a decision to be put off any longer.
