The whale was washed up on Roseisle beach |
Abattoir staff are disposing of the carcass of a 43ft sperm whale washed up on a Moray beach. Moray Council said the marine mammal is being cut into three pieces to make it easier to remove from a stretch of sand at Roseisle.
The chunks will then be taken to an abattoir in Keith to be incinerated.
Souvenir hunters are suspected to have removed the deep diving whale's lower jawbone after it was discovered on Sunday.
