One of the family's three pet rabbits survived the attack |
An appeal for information has been made after two pet rabbits were killed with bladed weapons in Aberdeen. The McCook family, of Middlefield Crescent, and animal welfare group the Scottish SPCA condemned the attack, which another pet rabbit survived.
It is believed the culprits released the rabbits from their hutch before attacking them on Saturday.
The Scottish SPCA described the incident as "brutal" and warned those responsible had to be caught.
The animal charity said research showed people involved in animal cruelty could escalate onto other crimes.
